Technical SEO
Fast to Load.
Easy to Crawl.
Built to Rank.
A beautiful website nobody can find is a brochure in a drawer. Technical SEO is everything under the hood that decides whether your site gets found: how fast it loads, how cleanly Google can crawl it, and now, whether AI engines can read it at all.
Your Website Might Be Whispering When It Should Be Talking.
Here is the frustrating thing about technical problems: you can't see them. The site looks fine on your phone. But Google's crawler might be hitting redirect chains, duplicate pages, and images the size of billboards. Every one of those is a reason to rank somebody else.
And there's a newer problem most owners haven't heard about yet. AI engines send their own crawlers now. If your site is built as one big image, buried in scripts, or blocked in a file you've never opened, ChatGPT and Perplexity can't read it, which means they can't cite it, which means you don't exist in the answer. Two audiences of machines, one set of fixes.
Free Visibility AuditOn-Page Is What You Say.
Technical Is Whether Anyone Can Hear It.
SEO splits into three kinds of work. Content and on-page SEO is what your pages say. Local SEO is where you say it. Technical SEO is the machinery underneath: site speed, crawlability, URL structure, redirects, mobile performance, and structured data. Get the machinery wrong and the other two can't save you, because Google cannot rank what it cannot crawl, and it will not favor what loads slowly.
It's why technical work is where we start every project. Not because it's glamorous. Because everything else is built on top of it.
What We Check, Fix, and Keep Fixed.
Crawl Health & Indexing
We find every page Google can't reach, shouldn't reach, or is reaching twice. Broken links, redirect chains, orphaned pages, duplicate content, and index bloat all leak ranking power, and most sites are carrying all five.
- Crawl errors
- Sitemaps
- Robots.txt
Core Web Vitals & Speed
Google measures how fast your site loads and how stable it feels, and half your mobile visitors are gone after three slow seconds. We fix images, scripts, hosting bottlenecks, and layout shifts until the numbers pass, then we keep them passing.

- Page speed
- Mobile
Architecture & Internal Linking
A site's structure tells Google what matters. We organize your pages into a hierarchy crawlers understand, clean up URL sprawl, and route internal links so your most important pages carry the most weight. Your rankings can only hold on a structure built to hold them.
- URL structure
- Redirects
- Site hierarchy
Structured Data & AI Readiness
Structured data tells machines exactly what your business is, in their language. We build schema for your services, locations, and FAQs, keep your content in real HTML text instead of images and scripts, and make sure AI crawlers can access what you publish. The same foundation feeds Google's rich results and AI citations.
- Schema
- Real HTML
- AI crawlers
The Foundation Never Gets the Headline. It Decides Whether the Headline Happens.
Technical SEO doesn't produce its own trophy number, and we won't invent one. What it produces is durability. AW Broadband's three years at #1 sits on a rebuilt site structure; the ranking has survived every Google update since because the foundation gives Google no reason to look elsewhere. Jasper Plumbing's 33.8% organic growth compounds on a site that crawls clean and loads fast.
We also hold ourselves to the standard we sell. Our own site is built with Core Web Vitals as a hard constraint, real HTML text for every heading, and structured data throughout, because we're competing in the same search results our clients are.
Accessible to People, Readable by Machines.
Many accessibility fixes and technical SEO fixes are the same fixes. Semantic page structure, descriptive alt text, and keyboard-navigable menus help screen readers and search crawlers for the same reason: both are machines interpreting your page. Accessibility also carries real legal exposure, because ADA website lawsuits target small businesses, not just big ones.
We won't tell you accessibility is a magic ranking button. We will tell you the overlap means much of the work pays twice. Full accessibility builds live on our ADA-Compliant Website Design page.
Questions, Answered.
What is technical SEO?
Technical SEO is the optimization of your website's infrastructure: site speed, crawlability, indexing, mobile performance, URL structure, redirects, and structured data. Where content SEO determines what your pages say, technical SEO determines whether search engines and AI crawlers can find, read, and trust them.
My website looks fine. How would I know if I have technical problems?
You usually wouldn't, and that's the trap. Technical issues are invisible to visitors and obvious to crawlers. The signs show up as symptoms: pages that never rank, traffic that plateaus, a site that feels slow on your phone. An audit makes the invisible visible, in a report you can actually read.
Is technical SEO a one-time fix or ongoing work?
Both. The initial cleanup fixes the accumulated problems, and that's the big lift. After that, technical health is maintenance: every new page, plugin, and update can introduce new issues, so we monitor and fix as part of the monthly program. A site is never technically "done," but it can be technically sound every single month.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Core Web Vitals are Google's measurements of real user experience: how fast your main content loads, how quickly the page responds, and how much it shifts around while loading. They're a ranking factor, and they're also just the difference between a visitor staying or leaving. We treat passing scores as a requirement, not a stretch goal.
How much does technical SEO cost?
Technical monitoring and fixes are included in our SEO programs, which start at $550 per month. If your site needs a one-time technical cleanup or you're on another agency's program and just need the foundation fixed, we scope that separately after the free audit shows us what we're dealing with.
Does technical SEO affect AI search results?
Directly. AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity send crawlers to read your site, and they have the same needs Google's crawlers do: real HTML text, clean structure, fast responses, and no accidental blocks in your robots.txt. Structured data goes further by labeling your business, services, and locations in machine-readable form. A technically sound site is the prerequisite for AI citations; earning them is what our AI Search Optimization practice does.
Find Out What the Crawlers See.
The free audit includes a technical read of your site: what's blocking crawlers, what's slowing you down, and whether AI engines can read you at all. Most owners have never seen their site the way the machines see it. It explains a lot.
You own everything we build. No long-term contract. No surprise invoices, ever. And the free audit is yours either way.
